Why You Should Send Your Young Lady To An All Girls Catholic School

by Laurie Ramirez

If you have a young girl who is beginning to grow up, it might be time to discuss her options for education. While the local public school is always an option, you might have other plans in mind for your child if you come from a strong Catholic family. There are in fact a variety of reasons why you might want to consider sending your young student to an all-girls Catholic school. Here's how your daughter will be able to benefit spiritually and within the classroom when she attends a Catholic school.

A Catholic School Will Instill the Same Values You Want for Your Daughter

If you are a strong Catholic, you likely do whatever you can to encourage your daughter to lead a morally respectable life. But once she steps foot outside your walls, the rest of the world is out there and who knows what she might see or hear. But when you send your daughter to an all-girls Catholic school, you can rest easy knowing that she will be instructed by teachers and administrators who share the same values and viewpoint of the world that you do.

An All-Girls School Will Keep Things Focused on Education and Community

As your girl gets older, she will no doubt begin to gain interest in the opposite sex. While there's nothing wrong with this, it could prove a distraction during a critical period of her education. When you send your daughter to an all-girls school, she'll be able to focus completely on her education. That's not to say though that she won't have a social life. Attending a same-sex school may allow her to form strong bonds, a sisterhood of sorts, with the fellow students that she goes to school with. This sense of community might even extend to the parents of the girls and you could find yourself getting involved in helping out with one after school activity or another.

She Won't Be Afraid to Be Herself

When girls and boys mix together in the classroom, students of a certain age sometimes feel like they have to play along with certain stereotypes. One stereotype might involve your daughter being afraid to appear "too smart" or too much of a bookworm. As she gets older, she may start paying an inordinate amount of attention to hear appearance with boys in the classroom. An all-girls school provides an opportunity for your daughter to simply be herself.
